As the title says, the next meeting will be at UCO (in the Atrium) on saturday the 13th September.
The topic will be taking frags of corals: how best to do so to ensure they survive and grow well.
I am not sure what corals we will be working with, but this will be a hands on deal to allow you to learn. It is likely that the frags made will be sold off at the end, or added to the donor program..so there should be lots to go around.
I am sure we will have zoanthids, a leather of some kind, sps of some kind and maybe an LPS
If I think we may have time, I will also present some of my talk from CRASE 2007 showing how to take and mount frags. Please add your name to the sign up list if you are coming to this one:
http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1451164
In addition we will be handing out Phyto starter packs for people who have signed up for them on the Reefcentral site.
http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1458102
This will also be the last chance to get CRASE tickets at a meeting, we will have them available and they are $15 each.
I hope you can all make it out to this one, I am sure it will be a lot of fun.
Paul

Water Flow in Marine Systems. One of the hardest things to figure out in a marine system is whether you have too much, or too little flow. Depending on the corals you have, your rockwork, and tank size, your flow requirements may be very different to that of others...so how do you control this important aspect? The month Stephanie Kohl will present Water Flow in the Reef Aquarium. In this presentation she will review the objectives of water flow and the different types of water flow that can meet those needs. Additionally, she will cover some of the various pumps and devices available, comparing power consumption, flow rates, and cost. Finally, she will discuss tools such as controllers, closed loop systems, current changing devices, and surge devices that can be utilized to meet your tank's needs. As usual, we will have LFS gift certificates for our free member door prize. This month we will also hold a cash raffle to help fund the up-front costs of The CRASE. Raffle tickets will be $2.00 and you can enter to win one of two Koralia 4 powerheads.
This meeting will be held at UCO - doors open at 7.30.
CRASE tickets will be available.
