May Meeting:  UCO - Saturday the 12th at 7:30PM

This meeting will include a review of current lighting options and a demonstration of

making your own moonlights.  We will have gift certificates for member door prizes

and a raffle for a T-5 retro fit kit.

The May meeting will be a general overview of the different types of lighting available. This includes normal outputs, power compacts, VHOs, metal halides, T5s, and LED nightlights. The discussion will include the use of each kind of lighting, potential livestock, DIY components, bulb and electrical costs, heating issues, color spectrum, and effectiveness. This presentation may also include the benefit of combining different types of lighting, as well as how much lighting is necessary for your desired outcome.

This will be a fun and informative meeting. Chris carlsen will be our lighting speaker with a powerpoint visual aid, and we will learn how to build DIY LED nightlights (postponed from March's meeting).

We will have a $25 gift certificate for the winner of April's Photo of the Month contest and door prizes will be a $50 gift certificate to Premier Aquatics and a $25 gift certificate to a OKC Metro fish store.  This month we will include a cash raffle for a T5 retrofit unit from Tek. This will be a 2 bulb unit (bulbs not included), 4 feet long. Tickets will be $2.00 each and the money will go back into the club.  You must be a member and present to win.

Remember to bring your frags for the donor program.
